Welcome to The Invisible String Farm

The simple life was never a destination.

It was always a perspective you get to choose.

When you read The Daily Porch each morning or wear The Invisible String Bracelet, you stay connected to this life and the spirit of our farm.

Joy grows everywhere you let it.

You just have to plant it all around you.

The Daily Porch

learn how we see

The Daily Porch is a morning message from the farm where you can notice the smaller things, with us.

Each message is a reminder to look deeper, because the circle holds more than what you see.

Start your day with us, standing on solid ground.

Real Connection Is Never Faceless

Welcome. I’m so glad you showed up. I am Brett, and I’m here to share this place with you

Before I became a farmer and a steward, I was struggling to find myself. Life tries to put us in a box, and we spend all of our energy trying to fight our way out of it.

This land and these animals showed me that life was never about fighting. It was always about simply knowing where you stand.

When you know the ground is beneath you, you know that despite everything, you can just choose your own perspective.

It turns out, joy is the easiest choice we can make in life. And when we do, it changes everything around us.

So I made Farming Happiness to share this life with you. Farms have always been the source of life—what communities get built around—and we need that spirit more than ever right now.

Life has become about fast feeds, uniting over division and struggling to stay two steps ahead. We're faced with automated everything, faceless commerce and nothing that feels real.

But, it doesn't have to be that way. We're still in charge of the choices that we make.

And that's why we are here, to help you remember that there's still good. You just have to find it, and cultivate it.

I write each week about the land, the horses, and life. I'd love for you to join our mailing list and share the stories from the farm with me each Saturday.

Read about us and read one of my essays, “It Takes More: My Journey to  Joy as My Personal Resistance”

Tied To Each Other

tied to the land

We farm for the land.

We learn from the animals.

We harvest the lessons.

Good work depends on all of us.

This is where you stand a little closer.

Is Just The Surface

At the heart of this place is a simple premise: what we do together matters.

Come and sit for a while on the porch with us, because the greatest lessons are the ones we learn together.

The world moves so fast, it can feel lonely when you're trying to live for this moment. When you see yourself in the work.

We see you. We're here, too.

The Ones Who Call This Place Home

The gentle spirits finally living without labels.

Lucille.jpg

Lucille

A pregnant mare who was shot and left for dead.

Lucille and her daughter are the ones who started it all.

Woolsworth

A 4H meat project who has survived TWO meat pens.

Woolsworth now follows the horses like a puppy.

Dolly

An extremely rare white highland cow destined for meat because she is infertile.

Now, she's an ambassador for the breed's gentle nature.

Poca

A Kiger mustang from one of the most rare and isolated wild herds in America.

Poca now runs on land she can't be taken from.
